Prayer for the Unborn

We bid farewell to this child unborn
Whose spirit departs us too soon

And though our hearts ache for the loss of your presence
We pray that your soul finds its way to a new womb
A home in which you will be loved as much as this one
Where you can join this world in full

But know that wherever you might go, little spirit
You'll never be alone, never be unguarded
For a piece of this mother's spirit goes with you
To guide and protect, to soothe and support

For no matter how short a time she carried you
She is still and forever shall be your mother

And you are and forever will be

Loved

Tom Brazeau, 02/22/10.
My dearest friend lost her baby to miscarriage this morning. What can be said to make that right? What words can ease that grief?

I am a reincarnationalist and do not fear death, but that doesn't make the pain any less when a loved one is taken from you, nor ease the grief when a life is ended too soon. For any of you out there who have had to go through such heartache, you have my deepest sympathies.

I can only hope that this little prayer will help her find some small measure of solace.

This is beautiful, the words are so pure. It's a lovely poem. I hope your friend's heart heals in time.
