We recently got the Baby First channel (which, of course, is bundled with a bunch of stations that weíll never watch, but whatever). Itís got some great educational shows and itís entirely aimed at infants and toddlers, so weíre sure that itíll help in the long run. Thereís a couple shows that really get on my nerves, though, especially their theme songs; those shows, naturally, come on every day during the mornings when Iím watching Kia. Iím fortunate in that those shows are met with a resounding ďmehĒ from Kia, herself, so muting them or turning the TV off doesnít bother her in the slightest.
Now, shows like Peek-a-boo, I See You (with itís little blue, animated baby hiding behind stuff), Fred and Fiona (itíd take too long to explain) and, of course, Vocabu-Larry (a bright red parrot that is introduced to new words and says them repeatedly)Ö those she gets excited about. Vocabu-Larryís theme song comes on and her head just whips around; she loves that silly bird. Iíll dance with her to the song.
My shirt says ďYou donít have to be crazy to work here, theyíll train you.Ē Donít have to be crazy to raise a child, either (though you will be long before youíre finished), but in both cases, it certainly helps. Stacyís sporting one of her many purple plaid shirts and Kiaís having a very pink day (babies are very supportive of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, after all) in a lovely little tutu outfit.
